In the Spirit of Giving

One aspect of Archbishop Bergan’s school mission statement is service. One way that we live out service is every month a house from the elementary and a house from the high school plan a service project for the month. For the month of November the houses of St. Maximilian Kolbe, from both the elementary and the high school, and St. Blaze from the elementary decided to help the St. Patrick’s food pantry for their service project. For the month of November they collected 2,191 items of food school wide, but their service project is continuing on into December.

With Christmas coming up, it’s nice to have the food pantry full for families who need help providing a christmas meal. “The food pantry is always looking for non-perishable food items,” commented Mrs. Dieckmann, St. Maximilian Kolbe faculty sponsor at the high school.

It’s the little things we do that make a big impact, so if you wish you can also donate to the Parish food pantry. You can bring your non-perishable food items to the Parish office located on 455 E. 4th street. You can bring your items Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. As you think about the Christmas season and your many blessings, think about the blessings you could be providing your parish through the donation you can make.
