This year, Friday the 13th falls on October, for the first time in 11 years. For this special day, many watch spooky movie to celebrate it. Today I brought the movie of our childhood favorite, Hocus Pocus.

This movie is about the journey of a little boy Max, the main character of the movie. He did not believe in ghosts or witches, until he met the Sanderson sisters.

The movie opens up with the sisters being caught for absorbing youth from the kids to maintain their youth. They were hanged, but left a curse that if a young woman lights a black candle, they will be brought back to life on Halloween night. Now 300 years later, Max appears in the movie, entering the Sanderson’s house with his sister Danny, and his crush from school, Allison, and they end up bringing back the witches. Max, Danny, and Allison meets Thackery, who was transformed into a black cat by the Sanderson sisters. With the advice of Thackery, Max takes the Sanderson sister’s spellbook. The sisters go after Max, creating a conflict throughout the movie. Due to not being alive for more than 300 years, the witches create silly scenes of being scared of 20th century things, such as televisions and buses. The witches try to catch the kids with the zombie Billy, one of the witches’ lover. They try to suck out souls from the kids several times, and attack them, but fail due to the sunrise, which leads them to death. After the witch's’ death, Thackery is freed from the curse, along with the people who witches cursed to sing and dance until they tire to death.

Hocus Pocus, filmed in 1993, is an American comedy horror fantasy film directed by Kenny Ortega, starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker; written by Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris, and based on a story by Garris and David Kirschner. It was nominated as Best Fantasy Film, Best Actress (Bette Midler), Best Supporting Actress(Kathy Najimy), Best Special Effects (Buena Vista Visual Effects, Matte World Digital), Best Supporting Actress (Sarah Jessica Parker). Hocus Pocus won the Best Costumes of Saturn Award.
